The difference is that games can be more decisive earlier as things like losing all your DDs to poor play is compounded by the enemy having access to all the buffs, where in randoms its a slower death from capping pressure. The same people who play randoms well are playing ranked well. The same people who play randoms poorly are playing ranked poorly.


The play isn't any worse, its just now there are buffs involved in capping which can cause snowballing earlier.
